    WHY US?

    Expert Local Guide

Led by Soufiane, a passionate equestrian expert born to these lands. We navigate the hidden paths surrounding the legendary Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, guiding you past majestic ancient clay kasbahs, hidden desert oases, and striking cinematic landscapes that have captivated the world.

    Horses first

They are partners. Not tools. They're the center of everything. We live with them, spend our days around them, and know them one by one. They rest, they recover, they are not pushed. They always come first.

    We know this place

We didn't arrive yesterday. We don't come here for a season. We live here. We know the ancient tracks that aren't on any map, the rhythms, the food, the way things work. You're not coming to a program. You're coming to us.

    Rider's Preparation Guide

Recommended attire and guidelines for an unforgettable desert trail.

A Quick Note on Summer Riding

The desert is absolutely stunning this time of year, but it does get quite warm. To make sure you have the most comfortable experience possible, we highly recommend booking either a Sunrise or a Golden Hour Sunset trail. We'll have plenty of cold water ready for you, but please remember to stay hydrated before you arrive. Light, breathable clothing with long sleeves is the best way to stay cool and protected.

    Closed Footwear

Sturdy closed shoes, boots or trainers are mandatory. For safety reasons, riding in flip-flops or sandals is strictly prohibited.

    Long Apparel

We highly suggest wearing long trousers, leggings, or jeans to safeguard your legs from friction against the premium leather saddles.

    Sun Protection

The Moroccan desert sun is intense. Ensure you bring high-factor SPF sunscreen, protective sunglasses, and a wide hat or lightweight scarf.

    Secured Gear

If you're bringing professional cameras or smartphones for capturing film locations, ensure they have tightly secure neck or wrist straps.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Obtain instant answers regarding trail operations, safety rules, and requirements.

How does Berber Ride compare to other regional tours?
We pride ourselves on offering a boutique, highly personalized equestrian experience. While the Ouarzazate region is shared with standard commercial operators like Ranch Cheval Ait Ben Haddou and Nomad Horse Riding, we strictly limit our group sizes and prioritize the absolute well-being of our Arabian horses on quiet, non-motorized desert trails.
What happens if Sunset Restaurant is fully booked?
In case we are unable to process your reservation at Sunset Restaurant & Salon de thé during the high touristic season, your reservation will be safely replaced with our excellent second option, Chez Moussa restaurant. This ensures you will never miss your meals. Everything is transparently discussed and confirmed with you via WhatsApp prior to arrival.
What happens if we miss our scheduled meal?
If your trail takes longer than expected and you are unable to get your scheduled lunch or dinner at our planned restaurant, you will not be charged for it. If you choose to eat elsewhere, you will pay for your own food and it won't be linked to your reservation. Additionally, if breakfast or any sort of meal is included at your place of stay (through our partnered accommodations), it will be fully included in your program on us!
Do I need previous horseback riding experience?
Not at all. Over 70% of our international guests are complete beginners. Once we accompany you to our horse stable, our expert team (Khalid and Mostapha) will teach you everything you need to know and answer all of your questions on the ground before we ride.
    Is there a weight restriction?
There are absolutely no weight restrictions. We have a diverse stable of strong, capable horses of various breeds and sizes, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride for everyone.
    What should I bring?
We highly recommend wearing long trousers to protect your legs from friction against the saddle, and sturdy closed-toe shoes (riding in sandals is strictly prohibited). Because the Moroccan sun is intense, please bring protective sunglasses, high-factor SPF sunscreen, and a secure strap for any cameras.
    How early should I arrive?
We ask that you arrive at our official meeting point (Sunset Restaurant & Salon De Thé) at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure. This gives you time to safely handle your booking, meet your guide, and perhaps enjoy our complimentary Moroccan mint tea pause before heading to the stable.
    Do you accept walk-ins?
While we always try our best to accommodate walk-in guests, our trails are highly curated and our premium horses are often fully booked in advance. To guarantee your spot and specific horse, we strongly recommend reserving your trail online via WhatsApp prior to arrival.
    Do you provide helmets?
Yes, premium protective riding helmets are provided complimentary for all guests of every age group. They are fully sanitized after each desert expedition.
What payment methods do you accept?
For standard bookings, we accept cash payments (MAD, Euros, or USD) directly on-site before your trail begins. Pricing is flexible and negotiable for custom requests. Soufiane or Zakaria will handle the cash face-to-face upon your arrival at Sunset.
What if I need to Cancel?
We offer a flexible cancellation framework. You can cancel or change your booking free of charge up to 24 hours prior to your scheduled departure directly through a simple message to our Digital Manager, Zakaria, on WhatsApp.
